Suffolk Winter League

The Suffolk Winter League comprises six events held between November and March, and is held at Framlingham, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Bungay and Haverhill.

The races are approximately 5 miles over multi-terrain and are a great social event.

Sudbury Joggers team up with Newmarket Joggers to take part in the series.

There is no need to pre-book; you can turn up and run. Each race costs £5 per runner and is paid on the day. Each club member scores points for the team, so your presence boosts the team’s overall points.

Individual points are also awarded if you compete in four of the six events; you could be in for an individual prize at the end of the series.

In 2016/2017, Sudbury and Newmarket finished 4th overall in the men’s A team and 5th in the women’s A team. Kieron Hales was 8th in his age group, and Jackie Hann was 3rd in her age group.

In the 2017/2018 season, there have been four races, and after three races, the men led the way, and the women are in 2nd.

During the 2024/2025 season, the women’s team came in second, the men’s team came first, and the team overall finished second.
