Weekly Report – 3rd February 2019
The weekend started for Sudbury Joggers with Jules Cooper running the Vichit 10.5k in a time of 58:13. Jules was up at 4am for the race in Phuket, Thailand, and loved how enthusiastic people were at 5am for the warm up. Saturday’s race was probably Jules’ fastest 10.5 race out in Thailand out in the hot weather.
On Sunday, 3rd February, closer to home and in much colder weather, Josephine Cheshire ran the Great Barrow Challenge 10km in 1:03:19.
Meanwhile, running the Great Bentley Half Marathon was 10 members of Sudbury Joggers with Emma Drury finishing first for the club in a time of 1:29:31. Emma was followed by Sally-Ann Bowen (1:37:19), Chris Wells (1:42:10), Wayne Mumford (1:42:34), Ben Boxall (1:51:26), Emma Ruane (1:55:53), Ruth Cowlin (2:02:08), Lisa Dove (2:05:22), Andrea Hunt (2:05:22) and Sue Crawte in 2:44:32.
This was Chris Wells’ first half marathon and furthest he’s ever run. Sally Bowen won first place in her age group and Ruth Cowlin managed to get a new personal best by 28 seconds.
