Sudbury Friday 5 Junior 2k

The Bob French Sudbury Friday 5 Junior 2k is for children under 15.

This race will be entirely at the sports field of Great Cornard Sports Centre (outside of the Thomas Gainsborough School), where juniors will run the same course as the Great Cornard Junior parkrun.

2025 Race Details

Date: Friday, 6th June 2025.

Start Time: 7:00 pm.

Race Headquarters: Great Cornard Sports Centre, Head Lane, Great Cornard, Sudbury, Suffolk. CO10 0JU.

Registration: Opens at 6:00 pm.

Participant limit: 100.

Facilities: Showers, changing facilities, toilets, car parking, café (serving hot and cold drinks). We hope to have a cake stall, and the proceeds will go to charity.

Please use the car park along the side of the astroturf next to Thomas Gainsborough School. The school’s address is Wells Hall Road, Great Cornard, Suffolk, CO10 0NH. We ask that you please car share where possible.

Junior Race Categories

Age categories will be based on School Year to ensure that competitors remain in the same category throughout the series. Therefore, the categories will be Years 4 and below, Years 5 and 6, Years 7 and 8, and Years 9 and 10.

School Year 4 and below – Competitors aged 8 or under on 31st August before the commencement of the series.
School Years 5 & 6 – Competitors aged 9 or 10 on 31st August before the commencement of the series.
School Years 7 & 8 – Competitors aged 11 or 12 on 31st August before the commencement of the series.
School Years 9 & 10 – Competitors aged 13 or 14 on 31st August before the commencement of the series.

Junior Race Prizes

Prizes for race categories are still to be confirmed; however, there will be a memento for the Bob French Sudbury Friday 5 Junior Race finishers.
